We had another day of higher attendance at VBS! It was especiallly cool to see Kids that we made salvation necklaces for at the plaza show up for VBS wearing there necklaces! After VBS the guys went to a Christian rehab house. This is a place people are ordered to go because of various addictions and problems. We were let into a room about 20×16 and then we a heard a click of them locking the door! They then unlocked a different door and let about 40 participants in. The youth group with us led in singing and Ben preached a message to them followed by several testimonies.
In the afternoon a group went to the downtown area and saw the hustle and bustle of El Centro. In the evening we went back to the local plaza and began giving out and explaining the salvation necklaces… all the kids wanted them and wanted to take them to their parents. With each one they also got a card explaining the colors and telling of salvation. Several kids prayed to receive Christ after hearing the message! We also did face painting that was a huge hit! This gave us additional time to talk about the necklaces. The youth group also set up games and had prizes for the kids. Hundreds of people came and went and during the day at least 10 people professed faith in Christ!
